Funky House: Disco Bomb (2014) Sophisticated House Mix

Funky House mix Disco Bomb (2014) is a companion-style collection that leans into sophisticated, disco-inflected house rather than peak EDM. Curated as a follow-up to last year’s Disco Lounge, this set stitches classic vocal disco reworks and contemporary remixes into a cohesive hour-plus journey. Highlights include Ariana Grande’s “Baby I” in the Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper Director’s Cut, Patrice Rushen’s “Haven’t You Heard” as the Joey Negro Extended Disco Mix, and Rufus & Chaka Khan’s “Any Love” (Sanny X Club Mix 2014). The mix also nods to George Benson’s Give Me The Night rework, classic house from Steve “Silk” Hurley, and a modern retro touch by Gramophonedzie, balancing nostalgia with club-ready polish. The curator explains this set was held until the gaps were filled, making Disco Bomb a tighter, more considered sequel to Disco Lounge. Expect seasonal mixes and fresh EDM content in the weeks following this release.
