Funky House Disco Lounge: 2013 Disco, House & Soul Mix

Funky House mix Disco Lounge (2013) pulls together disco, funk, house and soul into a late-night set meant for cruising from Peachtree to Hot Mess Blvd. This installment blends classic vocal grooves and modern edits into a relaxed, grown-up two-hour sequence designed to loosen you up and keep the floor moving. Highlights include a Giorgio Moroder & Chris Cox remix of Donna Summer’s “To Love You Baby,” Matt Smallwood’s 2013 rework of Inner City’s “Good Life,” and Gui Boratto’s remix of Wankelmut & Emma Louise’s “My Head Is A Jungle.” The mix also dips into Jody Watley’s “Nightlife,” a Hot Toddy take on Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band, and a fresh Pyxis remix of Evelyn “Champagne” King’s “Love Come Down.” The host sets a playful, slightly sardonic bar-narrative — dress code, cab directions, and all — while promising carefully chosen back spins and smooth transitions. Expect soulful moments, tight edits, and a playlist that favors groove over flash for a mature dance-floor vibe.
