Funky House Vol. 2: We Love To Boogie! (2016)

A 2016 Funky House mix, We Love To Boogie! is the second installment in Party Favorz’s party-ready run of disco-tinged house sets, built to carry a weekend dance floor from warm-up to peak and back down again. The mix moves through Deep House, Urban and Tech House with soulful flourishes, beginning cool and steadily ramping until it burns off into a higher-energy peak about two-thirds in. Highlights include Laolu’s remix edit of Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra to open, a Luca Guerrieri rework of Federico Scavo & Barbara Tucker, and club-ready turns from Keanu Silva and Mat.Joe. Don Diablo’s VIP of “I’ll House You” and Seamus Haji’s touch on Indian Princess add crossover flavor, while the set closes with a playful Mot & Krid remix of The Beatles’ “Taxman,” an unexpected retro-modern flourish that caps the mix on a tongue-in-cheek note. Total time: 01:19:51.
