Funky House: Rollin' in the Deep pt. 1 (2015)

This is a 2015 funky house / deep house set — Rollin’ in the Deep pt. 1 — built to clear the hard drive and showcase the groove-forward direction EDM was drifting toward. Expect steady, club-ready house with warm low-end and modern funk influences rather than the older electro-house sound; it’s presented as one of the final pure house mixes before the holiday and EDM specials arrive. Highlights include the TCTS remix of Watermat, Becky Hill & Tai’s “All My Love,” Kideko’s remix of Alex Adair’s “Heaven,” and a roomy extended cut of Calvin Harris & Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love.” The set also leans on reworks and future-house edits — from The Shapeshifters’ take on Cee Lo Green to Joe Stone & Daser’s “Freak” and Grant Nelson’s 2015 rerub of Solu Music’s “Fade” — keeping transitions smooth and the floor-moving momentum steady for just over an hour.
