Funky House Session: Play That Funky Music (2017 Mix)

Funky House mix from 2017 built for late-night grooves and disco-tinged floor action. Play That Funky Music collects phatt, funk-forward house edits and modern reworks across roughly 1 hour 45 minutes, aimed at DJs and listeners who want steady club momentum with nu-disco sparkle. Highlights include Inner City’s 2017 takes on “Good Life” and “Big Fun,” Gianni Bini & The Rituals’ “Shake Your Booty,” and a chunky Spen & Thommy dub of Barbara Tucker’s “Think (About It).” The set also features a Rhythm Masters vocal cut of HiFi Sean feat. Crystal Waters’ “Testify,” Chocolate Puma’s remix of Gershon Jackson, and Full Intention’s re-rub of Ralphi Rosario with Linda Clifford’s “Wanna Give It Up.” Bass-driven grooves and classic disco chops keep the energy consistent while allowing for roomy transitions and DJ-friendly extended mixes. If you’re compiling a funky-house DJ set or want fresh edits with a retro-dance touch, this mix supplies usable peaks and deeper cut moments for the floor.
