Funky House Sessions: Fall 2016 Funk, Disco & Soulful

This Fall 2016 Funky House Sessions episode mixes funky house, dirty disco and soulful house into a dancefloor-ready set built for both nostalgia and club play. The mix opens with faithful remakes and smooth remixes that establish a retro-meets-modern tone while keeping the groove front and center. Highlights include Sterling Void’s Eric Kupper remix of “It’s All Right,” Chocolate Dice’s Toto-inflected “I’m An Addict,” and Lee Walker vs. DJ Deeon’s disco-tinged take on “Freak Like Me.” DJ Meme delivers a theatrical remix of Donna Summer’s “MacArthur Park,” Dawn Tallman provides soulful warmth on “Teardrops,” and the set closes with a contemporary rework of Freeez’s “I.O.U.” Together these selections thread 70s funk, 80s freestyle and modern house into a cohesive 90‑minute ride that balances faithful reprises with fresh dancefloor edits.
