When you become aware of Love, you are aware as That- your identity has automatically  shifted from being the body to being aware of the body.  That's effortlessness.  Sitting on the couch twiddling your thumbs waiting on God to dawn on you, is not effortlessness.  Whether the body is doing nothing or doing something ,  it's 'doing' and as long as you think you're the body, you're doing, too.  You're not that. You're "Loving Awareness." Stop playing and be what you are!
