Growth can be a blessing and a stress test at the same time. We sit with Acts chapter 6, where the early church multiplies fast and a painful gap appears: Hellenistic widows are being overlooked in the daily food distribution. It’s a story about fairness, care for vulnerable people, and what happens when a community refuses to let quiet neglect become normal.

We walk through the apostles’ response and the leadership wisdom behind it. They won’t abandon prayer and the ministry of the word, but they also won’t spiritualise away a practical need. Instead, the community chooses seven reputable, Spirit-filled, wise men to serve, and they are commissioned through prayer and the laying on of hands. Acts 6 becomes a blueprint for church leadership, delegation, unity, and Spirit-led service that protects both mission and people.

Then we focus on Stephen, whose faith and power draw attention and pushback. When opposition turns to false witnesses and a hearing before the Sanhedrin, Stephen stands with grace and courage, marked by an unshakable peace. We close with a reflective question, spoken affirmations, and a prayer asking God for wisdom, integrity, humility, and boldness so our lives bring unity, healing, and hope.
