What Does the Holy Spirit Do in a Believer's Life? (John 14:15-31) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we look at John 14:15-31, where Jesus promises the Holy Spirit to His followers. We talk about how the Spirit guides, protects, and helps us remember what Jesus taught, and why obeying God flows from love, not rules. If you want real peace and help for everyday choices, this is an invitation to walk closely with the Spirit.

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." (John 14:26)

Questions this episode answers

What does the Holy Spirit do for Christians?

Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the Helper who teaches us and reminds us of His words (John 14:26). The Spirit lives with believers, guides them into truth, and gives them power to live out their faith. He is a constant companion, not a distant force.

Is obeying God about following rules?

In John 14:15 Jesus says that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. Obedience grows out of a loving relationship with Him, not out of fear or legalism. The Spirit helps us want what God wants.

What kind of peace does Jesus give?

Jesus says His peace is not like the peace the world gives (John 14:27). It comes from being right with God and knowing He is with us, so it can hold steady even when life is hard.
