Does Jesus Pray for Me? (John 17) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we look at John 17, where Jesus prays for His disciples and for everyone who would believe in Him. I share how a hard season of adoption changed the way I understand prayer. We talk about Jesus' longing for our unity, protection, and real relationship with God, and how He is still praying for us today.

"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;" (John 17:20)

Questions this episode answers

Does Jesus pray for me?

Yes. In John 17:20, Jesus prayed not only for His disciples but for everyone who would believe through their message. Hebrews 7:25 says He always lives to make intercession for us. He is still praying for you.

What is the High Priestly Prayer?

John 17 is often called Jesus' High Priestly Prayer. He prays for Himself, for His disciples, and for future believers. He asks for their protection, their unity, and that they would truly know God.

What does it mean to be in the world but not of it?

Jesus prayed that His followers would stay in the world while being kept from the evil one (John 17:15). We live, work, and love people here, but our identity and values come from God. That difference is how the world sees His love.
