What Does It Mean to Go All In With Jesus? (John 12:20-50) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Today we look at John 12:20-50, where Jesus talks about a grain of wheat that must die to bear fruit. We ask what it really means to surrender to Him, not just enough to stay out of trouble, but enough to change how we live. When we let go of comfort and pride, we find the freedom and abundant life He offers.
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." (John 12:24)
Questions this episode answers
What does the grain of wheat in John 12:24 mean?
Jesus was first speaking about His own death, which would bring life to many. He also applies it to us in the next verses: when we stop clinging to our own way, God brings real fruit from our lives. Dying to self leads to new life.
Is believing in Jesus enough, or do I need to obey too?
Saving faith is more than agreeing with facts. In John 12:42-43 some leaders believed but would not follow Jesus openly because they loved human approval. True belief shows up in trust and obedience.
What is the cost of following Jesus?
Jesus says whoever serves Him must follow Him (John 12:26). That can cost comfort, pride, and control. But He promises that the Father will honor those who serve Him.
