How Do I Handle Betrayal Like Jesus Did? (John 13:18-38) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

24 min•17 december 2025

Om avsnittet

Today we look at John 13:18-38, where Jesus is betrayed by Judas and warns Peter that he will deny Him. We talk about the hurt of broken trust, how God was not surprised by any of it, and how grace makes room for restoration after failure. If someone has let you down, or you have let God down, there is a path back.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." (John 13:34)

Questions this episode answers

How did Jesus respond to Judas' betrayal?

Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, yet He still shared the meal and washed his feet. He showed love and restraint instead of revenge. His response shows us how to face betrayal without letting bitterness rule us.

Can God use betrayal for good?

Jesus said the betrayal fulfilled Scripture (John 13:18), so it was not outside God's plan. God did not cause Judas to sin, but He worked through that dark moment to bring about the cross and our salvation. He can bring good out of our painful stories too.

Is there restoration after I fail God like Peter did?

Yes. Peter denied Jesus three times, but Jesus later restored him and gave him work to do (John 21:15-17). Failure is not the end when we return to God for forgiveness. His grace is bigger than our worst moment.
