How Can God's Past Faithfulness Give Me Hope Today? (Psalm 114) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Today we gather hope by looking at ways God stepped in for His people throughout Israel's history. We remember the God who brings water from the rock, and we see how Jesus steps in for us today. My prayer is that you walk away encouraged.
"Tremble, O earth, before the Lord, Before the God of Jacob, Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of water." (Psalm 114:7-8)
Questions this episode answers
What is Psalm 114 about?
Psalm 114 celebrates the Exodus, when God brought Israel out of Egypt. It pictures the sea fleeing, the Jordan turning back, and the mountains skipping like rams. It ends with God turning a rock into a pool of water.
What does water from the rock mean?
In Exodus 17 and Numbers 20, God gave Israel water from a rock in the wilderness. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:4 that the rock was Christ. Jesus is the one who gives us living water.
How does remembering God's past help my faith?
Remembering what God has done reminds us of who He is. The same God who parted the sea is with us now. Looking back gives us courage to trust Him for what is ahead.
