How Do I Find Peace While Waiting for God to Restore Me? (Psalm 130) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

We all face seasons where we are living with the consequences and chaos of sin, and waiting for God to restore us can feel hard. Today we study Psalm 130 and talk about the peace God offers while we are still in the middle of that restoration. His mercy is real, and so is His redemption.

"I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope." (Psalm 130:5)

Questions this episode answers

What is Psalm 130 about?

Psalm 130 is a cry to God from the depths. The writer admits no one could stand if God kept a record of sins, but he rejoices that forgiveness is found with God. Then he chooses to wait and hope in the Lord.

How do I wait on God after I have made a mistake?

Start by confessing honestly and receiving God's forgiveness, as Psalm 130:4 shows. Then keep your hope anchored in His Word while the consequences work themselves out. Waiting is not wasted time, because God is at work in it.

Does God forgive and restore after sin?

Yes. Psalm 130 says that with the Lord there is forgiveness and abundant redemption. Through Jesus our sins are fully forgiven, even when some consequences take time to heal.
