Why Do We Praise God for Who He Is? (Psalm 135) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Today we look at Psalm 135 and what it means to praise God. Praise has more to do with who God is than with what He is doing in our lives right now. Because His character never changes, we can even praise Him today for who He will be tomorrow.
"Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is lovely." (Psalm 135:3)
Questions this episode answers
What is Psalm 135 about?
Psalm 135 is a call to praise the Lord for His goodness, His greatness over all false gods, and His faithful care for Israel. It remembers how He rescued His people and gave them a home. It also contrasts the living God with idols that cannot see, hear, or speak.
What is the difference between praise and thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving usually focuses on what God has done for us. Praise focuses on who God is, His goodness, power, and faithfulness. Both belong in our prayers, but praise keeps us worshiping even when we have not seen an answer yet.
How can I praise God when life is hard?
Psalm 135 reminds us that God's name endures forever and His character does not change. When circumstances shift, you can still praise Him for being good, faithful, and present. Start by naming one true thing about who He is.
