Om avsnittet
Today we study Psalm 144, where David calls God the one who trains his hands for battle and defends His people. We talk about why hard seasons can become a training ground, where we learn to lean on God when a situation is bigger than we are. If you are in a fight right now, or you know one is coming, this psalm shows you how to pray.
"How blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!" (Psalm 144:15)
Questions this episode answers
What is Psalm 144 about?
Psalm 144 is a prayer of David that praises God as his rock, fortress, and deliverer. David asks God to rescue him from his enemies and then looks ahead to a time of peace and blessing for God's people. It shows that our strength in conflict comes from the Lord, not from ourselves.
How can I trust God when I am facing a battle?
Start the way David did, by naming who God is before you name the problem. David remembers that God is his shield and refuge, and that changes how he prays. Tell God the truth about the situation and ask Him for help, trusting that He is able to defend you.
Why does God allow hard seasons in our lives?
We live in a fallen world, so trouble will come. God uses those seasons to teach us to depend on Him instead of our own strength. Psalm 144 reminds us that the people whose God is the Lord are blessed, even in the middle of the fight.
