Why Does All of Creation Praise God? (Psalm 148) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we look at Psalm 148 and the deep connection between worship and the world around us. The sun, moon, stars, sea creatures, mountains, and people are all called to praise the Lord. When we really notice creation, it can lead us right back to worship.

"Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven." (Psalm 148:13)

Questions this episode answers

What is Psalm 148 about?

Psalm 148 calls heaven and earth to praise God, from angels and stars to sea creatures, weather, mountains, animals, kings, and children. Everything He made is invited to worship Him. It ends by celebrating how God has lifted up His people.

How can nature praise God?

Creation praises God by doing what He made it to do and by showing His glory. Psalm 19 says something similar when it tells us the heavens declare the glory of God. When we notice creation, we are invited to join its praise.

How can creation help me worship?

Step outside and pay attention to what God has made, like the sky, the trees, or the water. Let each thing remind you that His name alone is exalted. Simple noticing can turn into thanks.
