What Does It Mean to Be Anointed by God? (Psalm 45) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Some of the Psalms are called Messianic Psalms because they point to Jesus, and Psalm 45 is one of them. Today we look at how this royal Psalm reveals how deeply we are loved. We also talk about anointing and what it means to be set apart by God.
"Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom." (Psalm 45:6)
Questions this episode answers
What is a Messianic psalm?
A Messianic psalm is one that points forward to Jesus, the promised Messiah. The New Testament quotes several of them about Him. Psalm 45 is one, and Hebrews 1:8-9 applies its words about the eternal throne to the Son.
What does anointing mean in the Bible?
In the Old Testament, kings, priests, and prophets were anointed with oil to show that God had chosen and set them apart. The word Messiah means Anointed One. Through Jesus, believers are also anointed by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).
