Why Does God Want Us to Come to Him? (Psalm 46) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Psalm 46 has a lot of familiar language, so familiar that we sometimes overlook what it is really saying. Today we look at the heart behind this Psalm and what it shows us about God. He longs for you to come to Him because He is a good Father.
"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)
Questions this episode answers
What does 'be still and know that I am God' mean?
In Psalm 46:10, being still means to stop striving and trust God instead of our own strength. The NASB translates it as cease striving. It's an invitation to rest in who He is, even when everything around us feels shaky.
What does it mean that God is our refuge?
A refuge is a safe place to run when danger comes. Psalm 46 says that even if the earth gives way, God is a present help. We don't have to hold everything together, because He holds us.
Why does God want us to come to Him?
Because He is a loving Father who wants relationship, not just obedience. Psalm 46:5 pictures God in the midst of His people, helping them when morning dawns. He invites us close so He can be our help and our home.
