Where Is God When I'm Caught in a Mess I Didn't Cause? (Psalm 59) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
It is so hard to face trouble when we are innocent and can't see a way out. Psalm 59 shows how God becomes our refuge and our strength in seasons that don't make sense. Today we learn how to turn to Him when we feel trapped.
"O my strength, I will sing praises to You; for God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness." (Psalm 59:17)
Questions this episode answers
What is the background of Psalm 59?
The heading of Psalm 59 says David wrote it when Saul sent men to watch his house in order to kill him. David had done nothing wrong, yet he was in real danger. The psalm shows how he cried out to God for rescue.
What should I do when I'm treated unfairly?
David did not take revenge into his own hands. He told God the truth about his situation and asked Him to act. Then he chose to sing about God's strength and love, even before the danger had passed.
What does it mean that God is my refuge?
A refuge is a safe place to run when you are under threat. Psalm 59 calls God a stronghold and a refuge in the day of distress. We can run to Him in prayer, knowing He is strong enough to protect us.
