How Does God Care for the Fatherless and Widows? (Psalm 68) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Psalm 68 is sometimes called a difficult psalm, but it holds some of the clearest pictures of what burdens God's heart. Today we look at His care for the marginalized, the widows, the orphans, and the prisoners. My prayer is that you will see your own calling to care about the people God cares about.
"A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy habitation." (Psalm 68:5)
Questions this episode answers
Why is Psalm 68 called a difficult psalm?
Psalm 68 has unusual words, quick changes of scene, and many historical references, so it can be hard to follow. Underneath it all is a celebration of God's victory and care. One of its central pictures is God as a father to the fatherless.
What does Psalm 68:5-6 say about God?
It says God is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows. He makes a home for the lonely and leads prisoners out. God delights in caring for people others overlook.
How can I care for the people God cares about?
Look for the lonely, the widowed, and the forgotten in your own church and town. A meal, a visit, or an invitation can reflect God's heart. Supporting ministries that serve orphans and prisoners matters too.
