What Do I Do When People Don't Understand My Faith? (Psalm 69) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
Sometimes people will not understand our passion for God, even people we think should get it. Today we study Psalm 69 and talk about keeping our eyes on God when that happens. It is not lost on Him, and He will deal with it in His timing.
"I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving." (Psalm 69:30)
Questions this episode answers
What is Psalm 69 about?
Psalm 69 is David's cry for help when he is overwhelmed and mocked. He says zeal for God's house has consumed him, and that zeal brought insults. The New Testament applies parts of this psalm to Jesus.
How is Psalm 69 connected to Jesus?
John 2:17 quotes Psalm 69:9 when Jesus cleared the temple. Verse 21, about being given vinegar to drink, is echoed at the cross. Jesus knew what it was to be misunderstood for His devotion to the Father.
How should I respond when others criticize my faith?
Bring the hurt to God, as David did. Keep following Him and choose praise, as in Psalm 69:30. Trust God to handle what you cannot.
