How Do I Live for Eternity in a Short Life? (Psalm 90) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we study Psalm 90, the only psalm credited to Moses. His prayer shows us how to invest in God's kingdom while we live our short lives here. I pray this episode challenges and encourages you to live with eternity in mind.

"So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 90:12)

Questions this episode answers

Who wrote Psalm 90?

Psalm 90 is titled a prayer of Moses, the man of God. It is the only psalm credited to him. It sets our short lives against God, who is from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:2).

What does 'teach us to number our days' mean?

It means asking God to help us remember that life is short so we use it wisely. Counting our days is not meant to scare us. It helps us gain a heart of wisdom and spend our time on what lasts.

What does it mean to ask God to establish the work of our hands?

In Psalm 90:17 Moses asks God to make our work last and matter. It is a prayer that what we do in faith would count for His kingdom. Everyday work can carry eternal weight when it is done for Him.
