Does God Rule Over My Past, Not Just My Future? (Psalm 93) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Many of us find it easy to trust God with today or tomorrow, but harder to believe He was in control of our past. Today we study Psalm 93 and the God whose throne was set up long ago. I pray it helps you see that He reigns over your past, your present, and your future.

"Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting." (Psalm 93:2)

Questions this episode answers

What is the main message of Psalm 93?

Psalm 93 declares that the Lord reigns. He is clothed with majesty, His throne has stood from of old, and He is mightier than the roaring sea. It is a short psalm that calls us to trust the King who never changes.

Can I trust God with my past?

Yes. God is from everlasting (Psalm 93:2), so nothing in your story happened outside His sight. He does not cause sin, but He can redeem what was painful and work it for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

What do the floods in Psalm 93 mean?

The floods lifting up their voice picture chaos and powers that seem out of control. The psalm answers that the Lord on high is mightier than the waves of the sea (Psalm 93:4). Whatever is roaring in your life, He is greater.
