What Does It Mean to Hate What God Hates? (Psalm 97) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Om avsnittet
As we grow in our relationship with the Lord, His glory shines in our lives, and that light exposes sin around us and sometimes in our own hearts. Today in Psalm 97 we talk about what it looks like to love what God loves and hate what God hates. It is a call to holy living that grows out of love for Him.
"Hate evil, you who love the LORD, Who preserves the souls of His godly ones; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked." (Psalm 97:10)
Questions this episode answers
What does it mean to hate what God hates?
It means our hearts start to line up with God's heart. We grieve sin and reject evil because it harms people and dishonors God. Psalm 97:10 ties loving the Lord to hating evil.
Why does God's light expose sin?
Light reveals what is hidden. As God's presence fills our lives, we begin to see sin clearly so we can confess it and turn from it (1 John 1:7-9).
Is it wrong for a Christian to hate?
We are called to love people, even our enemies. Hating evil is different from hating people. It means standing against what destroys while still showing grace.
