Om avsnittet

When people come home from a trip to Rome, the thing they remember most is rarely the famous sights. It's the people.

This last episode of our Rome series goes to the table, because the early church was a table before it was a building. Luke describes believers who devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer, eating in one another's homes.

"Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart." (Acts 2:46)

The word for fellowship is koinonia, a deep sharing of life and belonging to one another. Most of us are starving for that and don't even have a word for it. Whether you ever travel or not, God is calling you out of isolation and into the kind of community you were made for.

Can I come on a trip if I'm traveling alone?

Yes. Many women do, and they're often the ones who find the community they've been missing.

On our trips we share a villa and eat together, and night after night strangers become family. Many of those friendships keep going long after everyone flies home.
