How Do I Recognize the Good Shepherd's Voice? (John 10) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we walk through John 10, where Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd. We look at what shepherding meant in His world and why His care for us is personal, not distant. If you want to hear God's voice more clearly, this episode shows how that grows through relationship and trust, not pressure or performance.

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;" (John 10:27)

Questions this episode answers

Why does Jesus call Himself the Good Shepherd?

In John 10:11 Jesus says the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. A shepherd knew, protected, and led his flock. Jesus cares for us in that same close and costly way.

How can I recognize God's voice?

Jesus says His sheep hear His voice and follow Him (John 10:27). Sheep learn their shepherd's voice by spending time with him. We learn to recognize Jesus through Scripture, prayer, and walking with Him daily.

What is the abundant life Jesus promises in John 10:10?

Abundant life is not mainly about comfort or success. It is life rooted in Jesus, full of His presence, peace, and purpose. The thief comes to steal and destroy, but staying close to the Shepherd protects that life.
