The skilled trades industry is facing a critical skilled trades shortage, but it’s not because of a saturated market. In fact, between 2016 and 2021, the number of youth aged 15 to 24 in the trades dropped by over 12% in Canada, according to Statistics Canada. And it’s not just a Canadian issue — in the U.S., the construction workforce under age 25 has also been shrinking. So, what’s really going on?
