Talking about your art — why is it always SO difficult? Can't you just tell people that the piece is what it is, and leave them to admire what they see?

Not quite. While this strategy can work if you're just having fun with art (nothing wrong with that, by the way), if you want to SELL it, you'll need to know how to articulate your WHY.
