4. India Rejects F-35 Purchase.
5. The first of Japan’s Short Take Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) F-35B Lightning II fifth-generation fighters will arrive from the United States in early August, according to the country’s defense ministry.
6. A US Navy pilot is “safe” after their F-35C crashed near Naval Air Station Lemoore on Wednesday evening, according to a Navy spokesperson.
7. AM General has received a $126.5-million contract to deliver additional M1165A1B3 Humvees, for the US Army. The Pentagon did not disclose the quantity of the latest order.
Work on the program will be carried out in South Bend, Indiana, with completion expected by August 2027.
8. Senate Appropriators Pass Committee Defense Spending Bill.
Senate appropriators passed their $852.5 billion defense spending bill for fiscal 2026 today, adding $21.7 billion to the Pentagon’s topline.
