Dr. Carrie Gibson, who studies the history of the Caribbean and is the author of two books, Empire’s Crossroads: a history of the Caribbean from Columbus to the present day, and El Norte: the epic and forgotten story of Hispanic North America. She joins us to talk about the women involved in slave revolts in the Caribbean - who were they, what do we know about them, why don’t we know more and, as always, what are the biases that shaped the way their stories are, or are not, told.
