Tanya 2, Chapter 1: The Compiler's Introduction - A Face to Face Encounter Folded into a Book

Reb Joey begins the Alter Rebbe’s introduction to Tanya by exploring why the sefer is called a “collection of teachings” and how the arrangement of Torah itself can reveal something entirely new. From there, he enters the central question of the introduction: how can a fixed book speak personally to every individual, almost as if one were encountering the tzaddik face to face?
