Elijah Resting Under the Juniper Tree

For the burned-out and heavy-hearted: come sit with Elijah under his juniper tree, and let God meet your exhaustion with rest instead of rebuke.

This Jesus Daily evening devotional walks slowly through First Kings nineteen — Elijah's flight into the wilderness, his sleep under the juniper, the angel's warm bread, the forty-day journey to Horeb, and the still small voice in the cave. It is built for tired believers: unhurried narration, long pauses for breathing and prayer, and a gospel that begins with a nap and a meal rather than a lecture.

The episode was recorded for evening listening at a calm, even volume, with each movement marked so you can return to your favorite passage. The script was drafted with AI assistance and read through for flow before recording.
