Episode 346: The Macabre Trunk/Forbidden Fruits

Om avsnittet

Hello and welcome listeners to Episode 346 of Journey with a Cinephile: A Horror Movie Podcast. In this episode, your tour guide, David Garrett Jr., continues his Scouring through the Sixes for episode 9. The first featured review is The Macabre Trunk (1936), a horror film from Mexico. I’m pairing this up with Forbidden Fruits (2026). The theme of this double feature is the Toxic Price of Perfection. Whether it is a husband’s ‘noble’ quest to cure his wife’s cancer or a retail queen bee’s performative feminist ‘coven’. I also got to see these films for Mini-Reviews: The Craft (1996), Hold the Fort (2025), The Troll (2026) and a rewatch of Dolly (2025). Plus a documentary about the cryptid, The Mothman Legacy and then 2 episodes of 100 Years of Horror. I hope you enjoy coming on this journey with me! I hope you enjoy coming on this journey with me!
