We will be concluding this week's theological virtue series with the virtue of Love/Charity. This is the the most important of the theological virtues because as St. Paul tells us, faith and hope will pass away but love will remain.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that "Charity upholds and purifies our human ability to love, and raises it to the supernatural perfection of divine love." We cannot love fully without this gift given to us by God.  To love our spouse, our children, family, friends, strangers and most importantly, God Himself, we need this virtue. God is such a good God that He wants to pour this gift down upon us, all we need to do is ask.

St. Augustine says, “Love is itself the fulfillment of all our works. There is a goal; that is why we run: we run toward it, and once we reach it, in it we shall find rest.”
