39. Transcendental: Truth

Subjective truth can change based on what my likes and dislikes are while objective truth is unchanging regardless of my feelings towards it. For example, God either exists or He doesn't exist and my feelings and knowledge on the matter do not change the outcome. We can then reasonably say, through revelation and reason, that the truth is: God does exist.
“It is easy to find truth, though it is hard to face it, and harder still to follow it.” -Fulton Sheen
The transcendentals draw us upwards towards our great creator and St. Edith Stein said it best when she said, “anyone who seeks truth seeks God, whether or not he realizes it.”
