In this episode, you will learn:

The five words for "just/only" in Thai are:

  • เแค่ /kâe/
  • เอง /eeng/
  • แต่ /dtĂ e/
  • เพียง /piang/
  • เท่านั้น /tâo-nĂĄn/

The example sentences

  • "I only want one piece," = "ฉันต้องการแค่ชิ้นเดียว" (Chăn dtĂ´ng-gaan kâe chĂ­n-diao)
  • "I can eat only vegetarian food," = "ฉันกินแต่อาหารเจ" (Chăn gin dtĂ e aa-hăan jay).
  • "I can only speak a little Thai," = "ฉันพูดภาษาไทยเพียงเล็กน้อย" (Chăn pĂťud phaa-săa tai piang lĂŞk nĂłi).
