clear phlegm: Cold pattern 寒証

yellow and sticky phlegm : Heat 熱証

a large amount of phlegm easily coughed : Dampness 湿痰証

bloody phlegm : Heat injuring the Lungs風熱犯肺

Thin, watery, clear vomit : Cold pattern and deficient Stomach Qi : 胃気虚寒証 (vomitting undigested food without sour taste in the mouth)

Sour- tasting vomit : stomach Heat ：胃熱

yellow, bitter-tasting vomit : Liver heat or Gall bladder Heat 肝胆実熱
