Let’s Talk Spanish | Spanish Listening Practice with Travel & Culture
I speak in Spanish about the life of Pedro Almodóvar, the most famous and eccentric Spanish filmmaker!
Anyone familiar with Spanish cinema has likely heard of Almodóvar. This director's films have had a huge influence over the past 40 years, reshaping Spain's movie scene with films that shock and draw in the viewer at the same time.
Emerging as a filmmaker after Franco's death, he became internationally recognised as the face of the 'Movida Madrileña', a movement celebrated for its freedom of expression and shock factor.
Decades later, the director continues to make fantastic films, with 'Dolor y Gloria' winning many awards at this year's Goya Awards.
In this episode, hear about his major influences and some of his most notable films, all while getting some advanced Spanish listening practice in this podcast to learn Spanish!
