June 15. Loyalty is the first law of God.

To be true to others means to be loyal to them. Truth and loyalty are virtual synonyms. Therefore did my Guru say, “Loyalty is the first law of God.” Indeed, disloyalty is worse than untruthfulness, for weakness of character may force a person to be untruthful, but treachery is motivated by no such compulsion: there is merely egoic attachment to delusion.
