Jade Lloyd On Battling Postpartum Psychosis
Om avsnittet
**Trigger Warning** In today's episode we discuss suicide openly and frankly. Please do come back or listen to another episode if you feel this will be too much for you right now.
This episode is part of our World Mental Health Day series.
We speak with mental health advocate Jade Lloyd who developed postpartum psychosis, a rare but serious mental illness that can start suddenly after giving birth.
Jade talks openly about what happened to her, how isolating it felt, and why she's now speaking out so other mums don't have to go through it alone. She tells us that, shockingly, suicide is the leading cause of death in new mums in the first year! (Source: Tommy's)
We also hear from Jade's mum, Tracey, who shares what it was like to watch her daughter go through it, getting her sectioned and supporting her through recovery.
