Seamless has sold over 700,000 units since it was released on April 1, 2015, and seeing the impact it has had on women all over the world has been incredible and humbling for all those involved. Women are bombarded with seemingly positive messages—you're enough; you are perfect just the way you are; you’re worthy. But our internal voice often tells us the opposite—you will never be enough, you are broken, you are not worthy. Bethany Broderick joins us on the MARKED Podcast to talk about how Jesus and the gospel upend both kinds of messages for us. Learn how your life will look different once you trade shame and striving for wholeness in Christ.

We were drawn to Tracie Miles' new book, God's Got You, because of the topic of embracing new beginnings with courage and confidence and remembering that God never changes. We can all relate to entering a life transition and feeling anxious, whether that transition is to something we’ve looked forward to or something we never saw coming. We loved this conversation with Tracie as she shared encouragement for women entering a time of transition, as well as how we can support our friends entering a new season.

In a political climate where people are often fighting online and in other venues, many people try to stop the fighting by making the claim that Jesus wasn’t political, or at least didn’t have a political agenda in His ministry, and therefore we shouldn’t be political either. Patrick Schreiner, author of Political Gospel: Public Witness in a Politically Crazy World, joins us today to shed some light on this claim. In this episode, hear Patrick's view on how believers can be appropriately political in line with their Christian faith.

A wide range of things point to growing in Christlikeness, so we invited Eunice Chung on the podcast to talk about how art and the Christian imagination, as well as some of the spiritual disciplines, point to growing in Christlikeness.

Yes, we can accept our bodies the way they are to an extent, but Angie and Whitney are here to talk about the fact that we also have a responsibility to our bodies.
Angie and Whitney have a vulnerable conversation about their own unique journeys, the complexities of our bodies, the messages we tell ourselves about them, and how we function in them as temples of the Holy Spirit.
Go follow Angie and Whitney on Instagram and share your thoughts on body positivity. Thanks for listening and sharing this episode with a friend! You can listen to more episodes of Let It Shine here.

ABOUT ANTHONY EVANS
Growing up in a family of accomplished speakers and authors: father, Dr. Tony Evans, and siblings, Chrystal Evans Hurst, Priscilla Shirer, and Jonathan Evans; Anthony chose to be a worship leader, singer and producer. In a music industry with pre-defined sounds, Anthony decided to make his own path with his unique genre crossing, one-of-a-kind style. As the son of a world-renowned pastor, Anthony left the comforts of Dallas, Texas, (and the Bible-belt) and took his talent and entrepreneurial abilities to Los Angeles. For more than two decades, his career has been about breaking down walls and taking unexpected routes to bring his faith and influence and impact outside of the church walls.
This impact includes 10 solo records, two of which hit the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Gospel Album charts, Vocal production for TV/Film, record production, acting, songwriting, talent production, a starring role in Disney’s Hollywood Bowl Production of Beauty and the Beast, and a spot on the hit TV show, The Voice.
In addition to all of these endeavors, Anthony has written or co-written three books, the latest—When Faith Meets Therapy, with psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser. This project addresses the intersection of his faith with the practicality of psychotherapy.
In whatever he accomplishes, Anthony’s desire is to share his life and authentic faith with transparency and honesty: “I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil. 1:6).

Today we welcome Vaneetha Risner to discuss her new Bible study, Desperate for Hope. Have you ever asked, Why am I going through this? What if this never gets better? Does God really care about me? When life falls apart, it’s easy to feel alone and slip into despair—disillusioned with God, hopeless about the future, and doubting your faith. In her 7-session study, Vaneetha tackles the hard questions and offers a scriptural framework to help you find hope in your pain. She will be a gracious guide through this difficult topic, walking with you as you meet women in the Bible who suffered loss, and sharing her own experiences of longing and grief. In the end, you’ll find that the answers to your deepest questions can be found in the character, goodness, and sovereignty of God. Listen in to learn more about Vaneetha’s study and how experiencing God and suffering has marked her.

As a conclusion for the When You Pray series of podcast episodes, we’re offering something a little different today. This episode is a guided prayer episode. So, you might want to come back to it another time or take a moment to get into a posture of prayer before listening, both in your physical posture—you may prefer to sit, kneel, or walk—and in the posture of your soul. You’ll hear the women of When You Pray lead you through different kinds of prayers with space built in for you to voice your own prayers to God. You might prefer to say those out loud or grab a notebook to jot them down. Feel free to pause the podcast at any time. We’d recommend listening to this one at normal speed.

Whether it’s a warm croissant, a bright bowl of fruit, a piece of cake, or a steaming cup of coffee put in front of her, author and Bible teacher Erin Davis has experienced all sorts of complicated responses to food, too. She’s discovered that God’s Word celebrates food as a gift while simultaneously inviting us to surrender every area of our lives—including what we put on our plates. Rather than the yo-yo of loving food versus hating it, Erin invites you to accept Scripture’s invitation into a different, nourishing, and refreshing rhythm.

And he reminds us, as well. {MARKED} is a podcast for women who are marked by a hunger for God’s Word, a longing to impact culture, and a desire to discover and live out God’s calling in their lives. Each week, Mary Margaret Collingsworth will interview someone who is marked with that hunger, longing, and desire, and encourage listeners to be marked, as well.
Episode 6: Brittany Mullins
Mary Margaret and Brittany talk about Brittany's organization, Beneath the Skin, and their work with young adults and kids in the music scene. They also talk about mentorship and how having mentors and being mentors has marked each of their lives.
About Brittany:
Brittany Mullins is the Founder/Executive Director for Beneath The Skin. Beneath The Skin is a new nonprofit as the vision of its founder Brittany Mullins. Brittany has a strong desire to serve the fans of the music scene. The majority of these young adults/kids come from broken homes, therefore lacking love and guidance. They don’t feel accepted by their peers, are considered outcasts at school, etc. They then experience depression, anxiety, turn to self-harm to feel physically when emotionally they are numb, experience suicidal thoughts, and an inner brokenness of not being good enough. She had discovered that this need was great, 7 years ago during her first interaction with a fan. This young girl told Brittany her story of abandonment, self-harm, and drug abuse and Brittany knew something had to change. Centered on the music scene, Brittany wants to offer mentors that come from the scene, that have either been through the same struggles and have overcome them, or is passionate about helping others.
