The Prodigal Son story we were never taught..

In Luke chapter 15, Jesus tells the story of the prodigal son, but it is not the story most of us were taught.

This parable is not about repentance earning forgiveness.

It is not about behavior qualifying someone for love.

It is a revelation of the Father’s heart.

The younger son did not fully repent, yet he received everything.

The older son did everything right, yet he lived as though he had nothing.

One could not lose his inheritance.

The other could not earn it.

This story exposes religion and reveals grace.

It shows us a Father who never withheld, never waited, and never required earning.

The inheritance was always theirs.
