Psychic Readings, Integrity & the Real Work – A Conversation with Nic

In this open, grounded, and insightful interview, Hannah Macintyre is joined by psychic medium Nic of “Psychic Readings by Nic.” Together, they dive into the reality of working with spirit in the modern world—from intuitive awakenings and healing trauma, to online scammers, professional boundaries, and what really makes a powerful reading.

With honesty and humour, this episode explores:

• Nic’s journey from childhood anxiety and spirit encounters to full-time psychic work
• The role of trauma, empathy, and emotional sensitivity in the development of psychic abilities
• Her spiritual awakening at 22 and the mentor who helped her make sense of it all
• Working on psychic hotlines, building confidence, and transitioning into professional readings
• The evolution of her style over 8+ years, and why she embraces remote readings
• What makes a good reading: boundaries, clarity, truth—and not always telling people what they want to hear
• Pricing, energy exchange, and the stigma of charging for spiritual work
• Her firm stance on client obsession, ethical practice, and not “proving” herself in readings
• How scammers impersonate psychics on social media, and why education is the best defence
• Her simple but brilliant explanation for how energy allows remote readings to work

Nic’s grounded and compassionate approach reminds us that psychic work is about empowerment, not dependency. Whether you're a working reader, a developing intuitive, or just curious about how it all works, this episode is packed with valuable insight.

I'm starting a circle, and you're invited.

Most people developing their mediumship are doing it on their own. From September I'm running a monthly development circle inside Spirit Social, where you practise with other people instead of just reading about it.
