June 2nd: Betty Jean Shade’s Body Found (1979)
Criminal profiling is something that most people are incredibly familiar with. On June 2nd 1979 the body of a woman was found and, thus, began a case that is widely considered as one of the first cases in which a psychological profile was developed by famed FBI agent, John Douglas. A profile that, coupled with good police work, saw the killer tucked safely away behind bars.
