Breathe in deep,
And imagine a desert
Dusted in pink, gold and red.
A desert teeming with life.
PAUSE
And, while traveling
Through the desert,
Imagine coming across
A beautiful green cactus,
With three ruby-colored blossoms.
PAUSE
You draw in a breath,
And marvel at the cactus’s majesty.
PAUSE
Then, you look a little deeper.
And come to understand how creative
The cactus is.
Thorny and beautiful on the outside,
It uses this to protect its precious
water on the inside.
PAUSE
Now, for just a minute,
imagine the cactus
Is you.
What creative ways do you use
To protect what’s precious
Inside you?
PAUSE
Now, pause,
And shift your focus
Back to the desert
And a long lizard
With green, black and gray scales
That runs by you.
PAUSE
Rough and hard
On the outside,
You notice the lizard
Has scales
That form a shield
Against the burning sun.
PAUSE
Now, allow yourself
To be the lizard.
What creative ways do
You build boundaries?
PAUSE
Pause, and shift your focus
To the desert again,
To a small, brown rabbit
That easily blends into
The environment.
PAUSE
Take a deep breath,
And imagine you
Are the rabbit.

Now, imagine leaving this desert
Filled with all its
Creativity and blessings,
from…
The cactus that safeguards what’s precious inside,

The lizard that uses a shield for boundaries,

The rabbit that fits in while not changing.
