UFOs, Contactees, Humanoids and The Air Force

In the golden age of UFO sightings, a strange new phenomenon emerged—ordinary people claiming direct contact with alien beings, often referred to as contactees. From George Adamski’s friendly Venusians to mysterious humanoid encounters in remote fields, these stories fascinated the public and drew quiet concern from the U.S. Air Force.

What did the military really think about these so-called UFO contactees? Were these bizarre accounts simply fringe delusions—or did they hold clues to something deeper, something even the government couldn’t explain?
