In this second part of my conversation with Jessica Pressler we continue our exploration of narcissistic sibling dynamics by looking at how these patterns are unconsciously stabilized within the family system. We looked at how Jessica’s mother not only adapted but unintentionally reinforced her child’s increasing psychological power. From there, the conversation shifts inward to Jessica’s own experience of growing up inside that system, including what it was like to become quiet and emotionally invisible within her family. This leads into a deeper discussion of what she calls “Your Traitor Within.”
