Instead of the traditional chapters, the book is structured as a collection of short essays on more than 20 keywords within Japanese religions, providing the main issues in these topics while also pointing to new directions for research.

Raditya Nuradi is a Phd student at Kyushu University. He works on religion and popular culture, particularly anime pilgrimages. He’s done fieldwork at Hitoyoshi city, Kumamoto prefecture.
