Kylie & Joanna Gaines on Marrying the Funny Guy, ‘Fixer Upper’ Shiplap Fever & Birthing a Starting 5 | Ep. 88

Kylie’s back for a brand new episode of Not Gonna Lie brought to you by Apple Gift Card! She’s joined by the interior designer, HGTV legend, and star of Fixer Upper: Joanna Gaines (22:45)! Kylie and Joanna go all in on what it’s like to marry the goofball (45:00), whether or not to go for five kids (26:02), the strictest parenting rules they have for their kids and Joanna even gives Kylie an impromptu design consultation (1:08:30).

But before Jo joins the show, Kylie gives Jason a big birthday shoutout (2:29), and announces NGL will have a special episode to help the Real Ones with holiday shopping: Kylie’s Holiday Picks (4:59)! After that, Kylie breaks down the wildest thing that happens postpartum… the fundal massage (9:15), and reminds everyone that a baby’s first birthday is actually for the parents!

Then, Joanna joins the show to talk about what it was like raising five kids while starting ‘Fixer Upper’ and Magnolia (22:45). They discuss when the best time is to introduce kids to social media, how to enjoy the individual stages as they grow up, and Joanna gives the pros to Kylie on why five kids is the best. Joanna and Kylie also bond over what it’s like to be married to the extroverted, funny guy and how they both had rocky first dates before they were won over (50:01).

After that, Joanna gives Kylie advice on when to let your kids start dating, and grappling with the fact that some of your kids might go far away for college. Later, Kylie gives Joanna the floor to talk about putting shiplap on the map, millennial gray and some of her favorite trends (1:08:30). Lastly, Kylie asks Joanna some of her most pressing design questions and gets excited for her newest project: ‘Fixer Upper: Chip Bought a Mansion.’
